The Wheel and the Internet

with one comment

Thats the power of wimax. Right now i am sitting in the hostel canteen and writing this blog entry. Never expected this. And yeah… i am felling very excited about it. Even more excited when i think what it feels to be when your whole city is wified or wimaxed. Bangalore is a wi-fi enabled city, thanks to Sify. Theoretically its true, but i don’t know how practically, it is.

Internet is truly one of the best inventions of man. It really has made the world small. Only thing you need to know is what you want to know. And if you don’t know what you want to know, you’ll end up in a closed loop of chaos.

I wonder why we always say ‘don’t reinvent the wheel’. We never say ‘dont reinvent the car’, ‘don’t reinvent the computer’ or dont ‘dont reinvent a mobile phone’. May be because the invention of these things in this era, is nothing as compared to invention of wheel at that era. Its all a matter of time. But the closest invention at this time which is closest to the invention of wheel is the invention of the internet. If the wheel brought high flexibility in the movement of a man, then the internet brought high flexibility in the movement of the information. Now i get it why this age is known as an information age. So we can definitely say, “Hey man…don’t reinvent the internet!!”.

Tip of the entry: If you want to check your current battery status, execute command acpi in the terminal.
